In a world that constantly asks us to do more, move faster, and push harder, Restorative Yoga offers something very different: permission to simply be.
Restorative Yoga is a deeply relaxing and nurturing practice designed to support the body's natural ability to rest, restore, and heal. Using props such as bolsters, blankets and cushions, each posture is fully supported, allowing the body to soften and release tension without effort or strain. This gentle practice encourages the nervous system to move out of "fight or flight" mode and into a state of rest and repair. As the body relaxes, breathing naturally deepens, the mind becomes quieter, and a sense of balance and wellbeing can begin to return.

No previous yoga experience is needed, and there is no expectation of flexibility or fitness. Restorative Yoga is suitable for anyone seeking a little more calm, space and connection in their life.
If you're feeling tired, overwhelmed, stressed, or simply in need of some time to pause and recharge, Restorative Yoga may be exactly what your body has been asking for.

What Can I Expect?

A Restorative Yoga session is very different from a traditional yoga class. There is no flowing sequence of postures, no physical exertion, and no expectation to stretch beyond your comfort zone.
Instead, I will gently guide you into a series of fully supported restorative shapes using props such as bolsters, blankets, cushions and yoga blocks. Each shape is designed to help your body feel safe, supported and comfortable, allowing your nervous system the opportunity to settle and unwind.
The shapes are held for a period of time, giving the body space to release tension and move away from a state of stress and "fight or flight" into one of calm, rest and restoration. You are always in control of your experience and can move, adjust your position, or come out of a shape at any time.
Angela will provide all of the equipment needed for your session, including bolsters, blankets, cushions, yoga blocks and comforting extras such as eye pillows. The aim is to create a warm, nurturing environment where you can fully relax and allow yourself to be supported.
For your comfort, please wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows you to relax completely. Warm socks are highly recommended, as the body naturally cools during deep relaxation. Blankets will be provided, and you are welcome to bring any additional comfort items that help you feel cosy and at ease.
I've included a few photographs to give you an idea of some of the restorative shapes we may use during a session.

Your session will last approximately 90 minutes, with an additional 15 minutes at the beginning and end to allow time to settle in, discuss any specific needs, and gently regroup before returning to the rest of your day.
Throughout the entire experience, you will be guided and supported by me. There is nothing you need to achieve, no poses to perfect, and no pressure to do anything other than allow yourself to rest.
Many people leave feeling calmer, more grounded, deeply relaxed, and more connected to themselves than when they arrived. For some, it may be the first time in a very long time that they have truly given themselves permission to stop, breathe, and simply be.
