The Healing Touch of Pittsburgh, LLC utilizes the services of qualified massage therapists, each of whom has completed a minimum of 600 hours of training. All practitioners are graduates of accredited schools and are members of either the AMTA (American Massage Therapy Association), the ABMP (Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals), or the IMA (International Massage Association). What separates The Healing Tough Massage Therapy Staff from most others? Continuing education. We feel that it is important for the welfare of our clientele that we continuously improve our skills. Additionally, we look for ways to serve our community and participate in organizations which uphold the standards of professional massage therapy.
Retta Flagg, Owner
Retta Flagg attended the Pittsburgh School of Massage Therapy in 1986. Since her introduction to massage was from a personal back injury, she focused on techniques that would work with injuries and chronic pain. She trained in Neuromuscular Technique with Bonnie Prudden, Paul St. John, and was certified in Neuromuscular Technique through the Chicago School of Massage Therapy. She maintains a private practice and was an instructor in Neuromuscular Technique at the Pittsburgh School of Massage Therapy for ten years. She is currently offering continuing education classes in Neuromuscular Technique, Muscle Energy Technique, palpation skills, and self empowerment techniques.
Retta has served as an officer of the American Massage Therapy Association at the state chapter level as well as serving as a committee chair on the national level.
